so i was asked by a close friend to create a series of 20x30" collage pieces for her dining room. i've never displayed my collage work here but what i basically do is i take a subject and "draw" them from life on a large piece of colored paper backed by a large cutting board using an x-acto knife playing with the negative & positive space of the image. i don't sketch anything on paper before cutting, that would be rully boring and blegh. the theme, ok, i have no idea what the theme will be but knowing me it'll probably be nude women. or nude women surrounded by lettuce leaves... this is getting somewhere. ranch sauce. squids. anyway, i don't know. what would you put in your dining room? it can't be something too grotesque like hello kitty having a tea party with donald duck, so i have some limitations. people would lose their appetites. i mean, talking ducks and cats doing things like people and probably plotting something unimaginable. at least with he dogs playing poker you knew they'd lose all their "taking over the world" funds in a game of spades.
